Homeward Bound

So we left our hotel in New Rochelle yesterday morning and set the GPS for Hershey, Pennsylvania.  Here is something to consider when using your GPS to find stores or other services:  Wait until you are outside of the New York area otherwise you may be directed into neighborhoods that you probably don't belong in and may not make it out of (just a learning experience to pass on for others lol).  We ended up in some interesting areas and Justin almost faded into oblivion from starvation because we couldn't get out and I wouldn't stop and feed him for fear we wouldn't live to tell about it.  When we finally got in to Pennsylvania we stopped at an info booth and I wanted to go to Lancaster before heading to Hershey.  The countryside on the way through is very beautiful and I have a few friends that would LOVE all the antique stores, but of course we passed by all of them except this one.
Because we didn't get in to Lancaster until 10ish we settled on a skuzzy cheap hotel.  I think it's an important lesson for the kids to see how they could be living, in the hopes they'll appreciate home more.

Since I told Cassie that everyone thinks her writing is funny she won't write on the blog anymore.  Sorry you're stuck with me.  Maybe if people post comments requesting her she'll come back.

This morning we got up and went straight to the Outlet Mall.  We have asked in every store for jeans with 36" or 38" length (Justin) and have had no luck.  At the Eddie Bauer store the lady said she'd go check in the back because there may have been some purchased online and returned there.  She said they'll be discounted though.  I thought there would be no way she'd find any.  She came out with 2 pair!!!  Justin went and tried them on and they fit perfect.  When I went to the register to pay they were $11.00 each!!!!  Unbelievable!!!  What a deal!  So we didn't get out of there until after 2 and found a drive in burger place, so of course we had to try it.  Haven't eaten at a drive in since A&W made the car hops hand up their roller skates.

Tomorrow we are going to Hershey Chocolate World where we will get to make our own chocolate bar, create dessert and tour Hershey.  What an awesome way to spend the day!!!  Our next destination is Sandusky, Ohio to check out Cedar Point amusement park.  Great more roller coasters, my stomach just recovered from Canada's Wonderland.

  1. Okay Cassie, that is why we like to read your comments...it is a compliment and a gift!! Not everyone can bring humor into writing like you can and I can just hear you verbally telling me about it! So I will expect to read more posts from you!! Lorrie, are a good writer, but Cassie has it over you!! Good you were able to feed Justin!! Good pictures...
